A devastating incident occurred on Friday morning near Beldhana Gaudhapar village in the Chandi police station area of Nalanda district, Bihar, as a tractor laden with bricks lost control and overturned in a ditch. The tragic accident resulted in the immediate death of three individuals, including the driver.
The mishap took place near Salehpur turn, where the tractor, speeding with a load of bricks, veered out of control and flipped into a 15-foot pit by the roadside. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Pedka in Manpur police station area, along with two other unidentified individuals, was buried under the overturned tractor and succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
The driver Mukesh Kumar was reportedly transporting bricks from Manpur to Patna when the accident occurred. Family members told that he was going to Patna after loading bricks from Manpur to sell. Meanwhile, the tractor lost control near Gaudhapar village on Sarmera-Bihta road and overturned.
Villagers noticed the overturned tractor in the morning and promptly informed the police. In response, the police, with the assistance of a JCB, retrieved the bodies of the three victims trapped beneath the tractor.
In-charge of the police station, Chief Dinesh Kumar Saha, confirmed that only Mukesh Kumar has been identified so far, and the bodies have been sent to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The other two victims, believed to be brick kiln workers, are yet to be identified. The police are actively working to ascertain the identities of the deceased.
